The Medical Faculty Association of the Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine founded in 1954, promotes fellowship and interaction amongst the medical school faculty and administration and their families. Through a variety of service and fundraising projects, the MFA contributes to the well being of the Medical School, its students and hospitals.
Proceeds from MFA fundraising efforts are applied to scholarships, loans and competitive awards to support medical, graduate and nursing students at the University of Miami. In March, 2005, the Medical Faculty Association was inducted into the University's Ibis Society for achieving donor status in excess of $250,000.
Travel awards are available to any doctoral student who wishes to attend a meeting in order to present the results of their research. The student receiving the award must be the presenting author and must include a copy of the submitted abstract with a completed
