Gateway for Aspiring Biomedical Scientists
Biomedical scientists carry out multidisciplinary research to learn about the functioning of molecules and cells and organisms. These new discoveries are then applied to the prevention and treatment of human diseases.
 
Financial Aid
Ph.D. Programs
Students who are admitted to the program in Biomedical Sciences and who are in good academic standing are supported financially throughout their graduate studies. Support includes:
  • an annual stipend of $27,000
  • fully paid tuition
  • 80% of the University of Miami student health insurance premium for a single person

M.D./Ph.D. Program
Students accepted into the M.D./Ph.D. program and who are in good academic standing receive a full-tuition scholarship to medical school, a tuition waiver for graduate school, and an annual stipend ($26,000) while they are engaged full-time in graduate studies.

Masters Programs
Master’s degree students do not receive a tuition waiver or an annual stipend, however, students who are accepted into the masters programs and who are bona fide Florida residents may compete for a partial tuition subsidy from the state of Florida (proof of Florida residency required).
